30-MINUTE BBQ RECIPES

1. CHEESY HERB BURGERS

If you’re tired of the same old boring hamburger, this will make your taste buds sit up and take notice. The combination of herbs and cheeses takes this burger to a whole new level. After you’ve tried this burger, you won’t go looking for other BBQ recipes to top it.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp softened cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • 3 tsp honey mustard
  • 2 sliced green onions
  • 3 tbsp fine breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp dried rosemary
  • ¼ tsp dried sage leaves
  • 1 lbs. lean ground beef

Directions:

Mix cheddar cheese, cream cheese, parsley and 1 teaspoon mustard together and set aside. In a separate bowl, mix green onions, breadcrumbs, ketchup, seasonings and remaining mustard into the beef. Mix thoroughly and then shape into eight thin patties. Spoon cheese mixture onto the center of four patties and top with remaining patties. Press the edges firmly to seal. Grill to desired doneness on your barbecue and serve on buns with your choice of condiments.

2. MARINATED STEAK

If you’re into advanced food prep, this recipe is easy to prepare beforehand and then just toss on to the grill when suppertime comes.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 ½ lbs sirloin steak

Directions:

Combine the first six ingredients in a large bowl before adding the steaks. Coat steaks well, cover and refrigerate for at least eight hours or overnight. Grill on the barbecue to the desired doneness. Great accompaniments include grilled mushrooms, onions and peppers, baked potatoes or rice and fresh asparagus or broccoli.

3. SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN KABOBS

If you need a refreshing touch of sweetness in your life, then this is the recipe for you. Both hearty and delicious, these kabobs are great served with rice.

Marinade Ingredients:

  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • Juice from 20-ounce can pineapple chunks
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch, mixed with 1 tablespoon water

Kabob Ingredients:

  • 1 red pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ (20-ounce) can pineapple chunks

Directions:

Put the vinegar, sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce and cornstarch/water slurry into a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Turn back to low heat and simmer until the sauce thickens. Remove from burner and set aside. Cut the red pepper and chicken breasts into cubes. On skewers, alternate a chunk of pineapple, a piece of chicken and a piece of red pepper until full.

Season with salt and pepper to taste and grill the skewers for roughly four minutes on each side. Brush half of the sweet and sour sauce over the skewers and grill an additional two minutes per side. Remove from grill and serve with the reserved sweet and sour sauce.
